Toadstools and Fairy Tea Parties

I'm so excited that it's finally spring!  The weather has been absolutely beautiful for playing outside and doing all the things we've been dreaming about all winter.  I've been imaging that I can see the little fairies dancing in the green grass.  Although we don't have the mythical red and white toadstools in our area, I'm absolutely enchanted with them this year.  I've been doing a bit of crafting with them and have a lot to share with you today.

These toadstool cupcakes come in two different sizes for lots of variety in your pretend bakery.  They are identical to each other, except the larger cupcake comes with a green reusable cupcake wrapper.  The miniature cupcake is about 1.5" diameter and has only 3 white spots.  You can buy half-sheet cupcake pans for the regular sized cupcakes and mini cupcake pans on Amazon.  Click on the picture to see the cupcakes in my Etsy store!

This cupcake was inspired by the sudden and magical appearance of butterflies on the newly green bushes around our community.  The light yellow butterfly rests lightly on the dark green, messy frosting.  The cake part is chocolate, which is sure to delight your children.  This gluten-free, sugar free treat will look very beautiful in your play kitchen.  It is available in a standard cupcake size, so it will fit in any regular cupcake tin..

When I first started dreaming about toadstool play food, I knew I had to make this cake stand.  It is about 6 inches tall with a bottom base of 8 inches.  It's a great size for displaying your cupcakes, muffins, tea sandwiches, cookies, and other baked goods in your play kitchen or as the centerpiece of a fairy tea party birthday (fake food only).  The stand also features a charming door in the base of the mushroom, perfect for a tiny fairy or gnome to use.  The top is bedecked with classic red with white spots.
